Meredith Williams

Meredith Williams is a second-year graduate student in Dr. Rachel Arey’s lab as part of the Development, Disease Models, and Therapeutics Ph.D. program at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She earned two bachelor’s of science degrees from the University of Kentucky and worked as an undergraduate research assistant in Dr. Matthew Gentry’s lab. Her main research interests include neurological diseases of learning and memory, and she is especially passionate about rare disease research. 

Meredith first encountered Chelsea’s Hope at the 2022 Lafora Disease Science Symposium and joined the executive board one year later, in September 2023. She serves as the board’s secretary and aims to raise awareness about Lafora disease by improving intra-organization structure and communication.
